The city is ugly. We stayed there on our way to Oslo and this was the only hotel. The hotel itself is nice and the rooms are just fine for stopping by and spending a night.
When we arrived, we were told there was no drinkable water in the rooms due to a technical problem. I guess those things can happen ...

The location is perfect, right in the town center and near the train station. The staff is friendly and the basic amenities are provided, including a breakfast that is included in the price. The hotel also has a cozy lake view, adding to the overall charm.
All was satisfactory, no improvements needed.

The staff was friendly and helpful, and the food at the restaurant was okay.
It smelled cigarettes, the bathroom had poor standard with o broken table plate. The shower curtain was not long enough so after showering the whole bathroom was soaked. The toilet seat was broken and it pinched you in the ... while sitting on it. Concerning the breakfast: the bread was dry and the food tasted as the hotel smelled.

Great location with plenty of restaurants and pubs around, perfect for our New Year's celebration. The rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable, with toiletries and plenty of towels provided. We especially appreciated the free coffee available at any time, which was a nice touch. Parking was ample, and it was very convenient to have a rental car to explore the surrounding area.
There wasn't a restaurant within the hotel, but there were a couple of options nearby. The breakfast was decent, but nothing exceptional, with hard bread and cheese that had sat out for too long.

The room was clean, and the staff was nice. Perfectly located in the center of Notodden.
The room was very old and hot. Bathroom didn't look good at all. No fan or aircondition made the night hot. Not enough lamps in the room, dark,

The hotel was old and does not seem to have been upgraded since the 70's. The breakfast was not very good. The room was clean but very minimalistic and not very cosy. The curtains in the shower was old and did not look good. When eating dinner in the restaurant the food was too salt. The waitor forgot my drink order. At breakfast the bread was very dry and the orange juice tasted water.

The location is good (in the center of a small town, everythiing is within reach, even on foot). The rooms are chear, and there is a discount for students at the local college. The internet connection was good, which for me is very important when I choose my hotel.
The staff wasn't forthcoming with any information about the services at the hotel. They could not give any information or point to an indormation source about the town (you don't expect the person at a hotel reception to tell you 'sorry, i'm not from here. I cannot help you.'). It would have been good to have a map of the local area, and be able to explain to their customers how to reach the most important things (cologe campus, shops, bubs, public facilities, galleries, etc.). there were also some small things in the room that did not function - it was impossible to get any soap out of the soap dispencer, and it would have been nice to have a small electric kettle and a cup, so that one can make tee or coffee in the room.

The breakfast at the hotel had a decent selection and tasted good. the view from the window was nice and the location was central, with some attractions within walking distance. A big plus was the fast and reliable Wi-Fi connection.
The room was disappointing; it appeared old and slightly dirty, with a broken lamp and a TV that didn't work.

This hotel in town center is a great value for money. The staff were friendly and attentive, making my stay enjoyable. The room, especially the newly refurbished bathroom, was clean and well-maintained. Additionally, the included breakfast was a nice touch, offering a good start to the day. I particularly appreciated the attention to detail in providing ample parking space and free coffee throughout the day.
No major issues, everything was satisfactory.
